GAAMAC IV postponed until 2021

19 May 2020
After careful consideration, GAAMAC’s Steering Group has decided to postpone the GAAMAC IV Global Meeting until 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This decision was taken to minimise risks and to guarantee the health and well-being of all those involved. The uncertainty related to travel bans and social distancing measures makes it difficult for GAAMAC to ensure the high-level of attendance from around the world and the quality of meaningful participation that lie at the heart of its Global Meetings.

GAAMAC IV was originally scheduled to take place from 17-19 November 2020 in The Hague, The Netherlands. New dates for the rescheduled Global Meeting in 2021 will be announced in due course.

Rescheduling will allow for more time to prepare GAAMAC IV in collaboration with partners and stakeholders. We are already working on alternative ways to engage and convene the atrocity prevention community virtually in 2020 and look forward to sharing more information about this in the near future.
